I have checked all updates and SP's are installed and my Windows 10 is also up to date as far as I can tell. Perhaps it's co-incidental, I really don't know. Only when I place a part that I have modelled myself, can be a simple block did the CC crash again. Can apply filters at will with no problems and can insert sample parts that come with inventor and every thing seemed fine. As mentioned in a previous post, the CC seems to work fine in an empty assembly window and I can place all sorts of parts from the CC to my hearts content. I then re-installed Inventor 2016 and the problem at first seemed to be gone.
